Job summary

OU Medical Center, part of OU Health, is seeking an Experienced Sonographer II to provide advanced diagnostic imaging across OU Health locations, supporting inpatient and outpatient care in the Adult Ultrasound specialty. Candidates should hold an Associate’s degree in sonography, 3–5 years of experience, ARDMS/ARRT certifications, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an ARDMS/ARRT-recognized program.
• 3–5 years of sonography experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ultrasound imaging with patient‑centered care.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic imaging on patient orders under limited supervision.
• Ensures testing meets safety and quality standards.
• Prepares patients and reviews clinical history for tests.
• Transmits images to the EHR and documents findings for physician review.
• Demonstrates preceptor duties and mentors newer staff.
• Responds to inquiries and provides clear information on results timelines.
