Job summary

University of Vermont Health - Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a qualified Sonographer who will perform a range of ultrasound procedures under the Radiology team. The role requires independent judgment and collaboration with the Radiology staff to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Candidates should have ARDMS RDMS/RVT certification, with progressive requirements for OB and specialty boards; experience across modalities is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required; RDMS or RVT preferred
• Staff 1: RDMS or RVT required (RVT within 180 days; RDMS OB within 2 years)
• Staff 2: RVT and RDMS required (OB required within 2 years)
• Senior: RVT and RDMS (OB) plus one additional ARDMS specialty; 5+ years registered sonographer experience
• Cross-training in more than one modality is expected and documentation must be kept up to date each year

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine, complex and highly technical ultrasound procedures
• Apply nonionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis under radiologist guidance
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure quality control
• Collaborate with Radiology team for accurate patient imaging and interpretation
