Job summary

The State of North Carolina’s Department of Transportation seeks an Engineer III (NS) in the Location and Surveys Unit to provide statewide geomatics analysis for highways and property acquisition.

You will use SONAR survey hardware and Hypack/Bentley CADD tools to create precise underwater surface models, supervise engineers and technicians, and act as the primary data contact across divisions for design and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with four years of related experience.
• PE registration may be required by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered; refer to Equivalency Guide.

Responsibilities

• Provide statewide engineering and geomatics analysis for transportation facilities and property acquisition.
• Operate and supervise SONAR survey activities and data processing for design and analysis.
• Direct others in collecting, processing, and delivering complex datasets for multiple projects.
• Serve as primary data contact across divisions, units, and departments.
