Job summary

Clera in Chicago, IL, seeks a solutions engineer to bridge pre-sales and implementation for a logistics software platform. You will collaborate across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Delivery to design tailored solutions and deliver customer demos for complex, regulated supply chains.

You will own designs from discovery through go-live, coordinating handoffs and documenting plans with clear estimates and risks.

About the Role

This customer-facing role bridges pre-sales solution design and implementation for a logistics software platform serving temperature-controlled and high-value supply chains. You will work across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Delivery, owning the technical thread from discovery through production go-live.

What You’ll Do

• Lead discovery with quality, logistics, supply chain, and IT stakeholders to understand workflows, systems, data sources, and constraints.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations and address technical objections using customer-specific processes and requirements.
• Design solutions by identifying relevant modules, integrations, data needs, phasing, and scope.
• Turn solution designs into sequenced implementation plans and statements of work, including realistic estimates, dependencies, and risks.
• Partner with Sales on proposals and commercial documents to ensure commitments are technically deliverable.
• Lead solution workshops, support configuration, and remain accountable for the design through implementation and go-live.
• Coordinate technical handoffs across Product, Data, Engineering, and Delivery, and share customer insights to inform product development.
• Create reusable solution designs, discovery frameworks, scoping templates, and integration patterns.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture, or technical account management delivering enterprise software implementations.
• Experience owning solution designs from pre-sales through implementation and go-live.
• Background in supply chain, cold chain, logistics, or quality management workflows, ideally in a regulated industry.
• Hands-on experience configuring or implementing enterprise software, and delivering tailored demonstrations in sales settings.
• Ability to coordinate technical handoffs and sequence work across Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams.
• Proficiency with Figma, FigJam, or similar design tools, and Linear, Jira, or equivalent project tracking systems.
• Familiarity with APIs, data integration, system interoperability, and reusable implementation playbooks is valuable.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $140,000 to $180,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
