Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks Lead Solutions Design Engineers to grow our Supply Chain Solutions and Dedicated Transportation offerings. You will design feasible, value-driven logistics solutions, shape wins plans with pursuit teams, and guide transitions to operations during startup.

The role requires deep expertise in transportation design, warehouse design, and advanced data analytics. You will mentor a small SD engineering team and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
• Six+ years in Transportation and Warehousing/Manufacturing industries
• Advanced MS Office skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with visualization (Tableau) and database programming
• Knowledge of metrics programs and design networks that are sustainable and measurable
• Extensive knowledge of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks
• Experience with Transportation Design Tools (JDA, Appian, Llamasoft/Network Design Tools, OTM) and Data Analytics

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, clarify objectives and develop initial hypotheses for solution design
• Validate data, cleanse datasets and define modeling scenarios
• Calculate labor, equipment, and facility requirements for transportation/warehousing
• Develop optimization scenarios aligned with client objectives
• Meet with customers and bid teams; support technical reviews and design validation
• Lead implementation follow-up to ensure deployment matches plan
• Develop and improve engineering tools and methodologies
• Lead consulting projects to understand client pain-points and present solutions
