Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to support the DTRA IT modernization within the I3TS team at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and experience designing secure, scalable on‑prem and cloud infrastructures.

You will drive innovation, lead proofs of concept, and collaborate with government stakeholders to deliver targeted improvements. A DoW TS/SCI clearance and DoW 8570 IAT II certification or ability to obtain are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoW TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience designing secure, scalable on‑premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Experience planning and executing application/service migrations.
• Experience developing architecture artifacts and presenting to stakeholders.
• Experience evaluating new technologies to improve performance, security and cost.
• Experience operating in a DevSecOps environment of comparable size.
• Proven written and oral communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Must have DoW 8570 IAT II certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Support the I3TS Principal Solutions Architect and drive continual innovation for DTRA IT infrastructure.
• Identify gaps and lead analysis of alternatives and proofs of concept.
• Standardize site surveys and migrations to be automated and efficient.
• Use automation to minimize staffing and reduce human error.
• Promote open design principles with minimal vendor lock-in.
• Incorporate emerging technologies to enhance cybersecurity and user experience.
• Collaborate with project teams to align with vision and improvements.
• Work with government stakeholders to identify improvement areas.
• Conduct feasibility assessments and detailed analyses of alternatives.
• Document results and present to stakeholders in reviews.
