Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Principal Solution Architect to provide strategic direction for design and implementation of innovative technology solutions across the enterprise in a hybrid work environment.

The role collaborates with executive leadership to gather requirements, ensures alignment with platforms and standards, and leads architecture reviews while guiding delivery. It emphasizes emerging technologies, security, scalability, and high-level decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Solution Architecture or related field.
• In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Expert proficiency in solution architecture principles and frameworks.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in solution design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the design and implementation of innovative technology solutions.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to gather, analyze, and document high-level requirements.
• Analyze complex business problems and develop robust, innovative solutions.
• Ensure alignment and consistency of solutions with technology platforms and organizational standards.
• Develop and review comprehensive technical documentation and solution architecture artifacts.
• Lead and facilitate high-level design review sessions and make strategic architectural decisions.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and their strategic impact on the organization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to solution implementation.
• Lead and oversee project planning and execution to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
