Job summary

General Dynamics - IT seeks a strategic Solutions Architect to lead a technical team overseeing the DSMS Enterprise modernization, reliability, and security.

You will bridge enterprise requirements and technical execution, collaborating across IT disciplines to ensure secure, modernized infrastructure and services in a regulated environment. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and is based in Newington, VA.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and 15+ years of related work experience
• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams in an enterprise
• Deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server
• Architectural experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter and hardware management
• Strong AD DS and Microsoft Exchange knowledge
• Excellent ability to present roadmaps and risks to stakeholders
• Current TS/SCI clearance
• Work location in Newington, VA

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and empower a team of systems administrators, driving operational excellence
• Drive architectural design and health of VMware, Windows, Red Hat, and related environments
• Enforce security governance and DISA STIG compliance across enterprise systems
• Collaborate with Network Eng, Cybersecurity, Applications, and DB teams to deliver cohesive services
• Translate stakeholder requirements into modernization strategies bridging legacy constraints and future-state goals
