Qualifications

• 10 years of experience managing full sales cycle technical engagements, incl. discovery, PoC, RFP/RFI, deployment and roadmap planning.
• 10 years of experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting cloud computing and private datacenter infrastructure, containerization, microservices, and API.
• 8 years of post-sales technical engagement delivering scalable, secure enterprise solutions.
• 7 years of executive-level technical presentations and customer engagements focused on AI inference engines and performance.
• 6 years of designing scalable cloud architectures in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• 5 years deploying software solutions within the Chinese tech ecosystem and with Chinese model providers.
• 5 years coding for AI model deployment using Python/SQL.
• 5 years collaborating with GSIs/RSIs and cloud providers on complex deployments.
• 3 years tailoring AI models (LLMs, diffusion, multimodal) to customer specs, including optimization and MLOps.
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).

fal – Features & Labels, Inc. seeks a Senior Solutions Architect (multiple openings) for its San Francisco, CA office. (Domestic and international travel required for up to 25-35 percent of time)

Job Duties:

Engage with prospective and existing clients to assess their technical needs and recommend appropriate models and services. Prepare and deliver presentations explaining technical products to existing and prospective customers. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to tailor solutions that meet specific client requirements. Plan and modify products or services to meet customer needs. Gather insights from clients to inform product development and identify opportunities for innovation. Recommend improved products or services to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production. Serve as the lead technical advisor to enterprise customers and strategic AI model providers, translating complex business requirements into scalable solution architectures on the fal.ai platform. Cultivate and maintain deep technical relationships with Chinese AI model providers and technology companies, acting as the primary technical point of contact for these partnerships. Design, prototype, and validate reference architectures and integration patterns that accelerate customer time-to-value and drive platform adoption. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Business Development—to define go-to-market strategies for partner and customer engagements. Provide strategic technical guidance during pre-sales and post-sales cycles, including discovery sessions, proof-of-concept development, and production deployment planning. Intervene directly to unblock strategic customer deals where partners are the primary delivery vehicle, providing deep technical expertise and solution architecture guidance. Represent fal.ai as a technical thought leader at industry conferences, partner events, customer workshops, and developer meetups—including events in Greater China. Gather, synthesize, and deliver product feedback from customers and partners to internal teams to inform the product roadmap and partner strategy. Develop and maintain technical documentation, best-practice guides, and enablement materials for both internal teams and external partners. Stay current with emerging trends in generative AI, large language models, diffusion models, and cloud-native infrastructure to inform solution design and strategic recommendations.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a technical customer-facing or partner-facing role such as a Solutions Architect, Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, Software Consultant, Senior Application Engineer or related occupation. Experience must include:

• 10 years of experience managing full sales cycle technical engagements, including leading discovery sessions, developing proofs of concept, supporting RFP/RFI responses, and guiding customers through production deployment and future roadmap planning and production support.

• 10 years of experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting cloud computing and private datacenter computing infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, or VMware), containerization, microservices architectures, and API.

• 8 years of experience with post-sales technical engagement, including architecting and delivering complex, scalable, and secure enterprise solutions across diverse industries.

• 7 years of experience delivering technical presentations and customer-facing sales engagements to C-suite executives, engineering teams, and IT organizations, specifically focused on AI inference engines, infrastructure performance optimization, and algorithm processing speed improvements across production environments.

• 6 years of experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating with enterprise systems across multi-cloud or hybrid environments.

• 5 years of experience deploying and integrating software solutions within the Chinese technology ecosystem (e.g., Alibaba Cloud, Tencent, Baidu, ByteDance, or emerging Chinese AI startups), Chinese technology companies, Chinese AI labs, or Chinese model providers.

• 5 years of experience coding for inference with modern scripting languages (Python and SQL) to help partners and customers deploy their AI models or algorithms on cloud infrastructure.

• 5 years of experience collaborating with Global and Regional System Integrators (GSIs/RSIs) and leading cloud providers to design and implement solutions for complex technical challenges, including the deployment of AI/ML algorithms and the scaling of cloud-based infrastructure.

• 3 years of experience tailoring AI models to customer specifications, including generative AI models (LLMs, diffusion models, or multimodal models), inference optimization, MLOps practices, and GPU infrastructure.

• Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).

Experience may be gained concurrently. Foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable.

Salary: $220,000-$290,000 per year
