We’re looking for a Solutions Architect that loves to innovate and create. You will work within our Labs data practice to design and build solutions that acquire sources of telemetry in new and interesting ways. You will collaborate with colleagues across Labs and New Relic to explore early-stage observability products for various industry verticals and use cases.

The role requires

• Expertise as a full stack polyglot developer with an entrepreneurial spirit and a consultative mindset.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and deliver production-ready code.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, with a focus on customer experience.
• Collaboration within a small team of experienced solutions architects.

What you'll do

1. Solve customer problems by designing and developing innovative solutions that extend New Relic’s platform capabilities for telemetry acquisition.
2. Collaborate with product management, engineering, and design teams to support programmability in the platform.
3. Develop business cases and go-to-market materials for Labs solutions.
4. Promote Labs work through blogging and presentations.
5. Lead customer delivery, onboarding, training, and enablement.
6. Contribute to open source projects on GitHub.
7. Publish work across various New Relic properties including marketplaces, websites, and open source sites.

This role requires

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in one of: Java, Go, or similar languages.
• Comfort working in small teams to deliver high-quality work.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Technical background with client management skills and project leadership abilities.
• Experience with monitoring technologies such as bytecode injection, process sampling, instrumentation, eBPF, etc.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience creating serverless applications (AWS Lambda, GCP functions, Azure Functions).

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with observability tools like New Relic, Splunk, DataDog, etc.
• Familiarity with open source observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, etc.
• Experience with message frameworks like Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of modern Node.js ecosystem and front-end frameworks.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Online portfolio demonstrating problem-solving skills.
