Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a senior architect to guide architectural governance and drive the technology strategy across a multi-year portfolio. You will influence senior leaders and align technology plans with business goals, solving complex problems with cross-functional teams.

The role requires extensive experience in architecture and transformation programs, strong data and middleware skills, and the ability to communicate with both business and technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years development experience.
• Experience in Architecture and Transformation programs.
• Agile SCRUM management experience; Agile transformation experience a plus.
• Strong Big data / Open Source experience in building modern warehouse.
• Experience in Reconciliation with TLM software knowledge.
• Strong Database knowledge in Oracle and Snowflake.
• Knowledge of middleware like Kafka/MQ/Spark.
• Understanding of AI / Machine learning is an added advantage.
• Strong development background using Cloud/Docker technologies.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Governance: part of Global Engineering- Architectural Governance development and operations.
• Delivery of multi-year Technology Strategy across the portfolio.
• Influence strategy and vision of senior decision makers through clear communication.
• Influence project portfolios toward target state and ensure alignment with business strategies.
• Mediate conflicting priorities and drive optimal solutions.
• Liaise with Enterprise Architecture groups and build strong stakeholder relationships.
