Job description

The Solution Architecture Team plays a key role in driving successful implementations of the Accela Civic Platform by providing design and thought leadership. In addition to participating as architects on regional project teams, the team supports internal initiatives, contributes to pre-sales activities, and develops best practices and standards.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Solution Architect, you will translate complex government processes into intuitive, easy-to-use packaged solutions on the Accela Civic Platform. You will own your solutions end-to-end—from design and implementation to packaging, publishing, and tracking adoption. These solutions will be leveraged by government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels across the globe.

You are expected to be a subject matter expert in at least three of the following areas: government processes, application architecture, databases and reporting, integrations, security, cloud computing, mobile applications, and analytics.

With a strong IT background—including solution architecture, cloud infrastructure, SDLC, and user experience design—you will contribute to small-to-medium scale delivery projects. You will determine how to best leverage Civic Platform technologies based on customer needs, product capabilities, and Accela methodologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with the Accela Civic Platform, including multiple domains and technologies
  • Understanding of UI/UX design principles
  • Solid grasp of cloud architecture concepts, including SaaS, multi-tenancy, and multi-tier infrastructure
  • Familiarity with cloud service models and architecture discussions
  • Experience with enterprise application integration, data migration (ETL), and business intelligence
  • Background in responsive web design, mobile development, and web services architecture
  • Working knowledge of network, application, and information security principles
  • Ability to lead customer-facing sessions and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Prior experience implementing or practicing with the Accela Civic Platform
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Government domain experience and/or consulting background (e.g., Big 5)
  • Ability to travel up to 20–30% of the time

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required)
  • 8+ years of experience with the Accela Civic Platform
  • Experience in project management, business analysis, and team leadership
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, C#/Java, Crystal Reports, and SSRS
  • Experience delivering packaged or reusable Civic Platform solutions

COMPENSATION AND WELL-BEING
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is [$130,000-$146,000] (less applicable taxes). The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an annual base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus target. This is a discretionary bonus awarded based on company and individual goal achievement.
