Job summary

Cochise County seeks a Senior Solid Waste Worker in Bisbee to supervise and operate a Solid Waste Urban Transfer Station under supervision. You will oversee staff, ensure safe operations, manage loading efficiency, and handle cash and reporting duties. A valid Arizona driver’s license is required.

Three years of relevant experience are expected; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. County retirement benefits apply as part of a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Three years progressively responsible experience in material handling or solid waste industry.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and county insurance eligibility.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Direct operation, maintenance and administration of a Solid Waste Urban Transfer Station.
• Supervise staff, including inmate labor, and ensure training in operations.
• Monitor revenue, cash handling, and daily work reports; enforce safety.
• Coordinate load efficiency, charges, and on-site adjustments as needed.
