Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Planner for its Solid Waste Practice to lead waste diversion, resource management and planning projects across the United States.

The role focuses on recycling, organics, zero waste and sustainable materials management, with opportunities to influence policy and disposal practices. You will develop proposals, manage projects, and mentor staff while collaborating with HDR offices and strategic partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years environmental experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite; strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead the waste sector by developing the business through writing proposals, managing projects, and building staff.
• Support long-range waste management strategic plans for municipalities including researching, identifying, assessing, and evaluating alternate diversion and disposal technologies and programs.
• Assist in planning and approvals for a range of waste management facilities and prepare project reports and presentations.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to establish relationships and identify growth opportunities across HDR’s network.
