Job summary

Eurofins Scientific in Groton, CT, is seeking a Senior Solid State NMR Scientist to provide laboratory support in solid-state NMR data collection and interpretation for pharmaceutical materials.

You will apply ssNMR to characterize APIs, excipients, drug product intermediates and products, plan experiments with minimal supervision, collaborate with Materials Science, and ensure accurate entries in the electronic lab notebook.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in chemistry or equivalent with ssNMR expertise OR a related B.A./M.S. with 2–3+ years ssNMR experience.
• Experience with ssNMR sample preparation, data acquisition, and interpretation of 1D and 2D spectra.
• Familiarity with solid-state characterization techniques (PXRD, microscopy, DSC, TGA) is an asset.
• Experience or understanding of vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) is an asset.
• Strong foundation in physical, analytical, and organic chemistry; good data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Apply ssNMR to characterize pharmaceutical materials (crystalline and non-crystalline APIs, excipients, intermediates, and products).
• Quantify components in APIs and drug products using ssNMR.
• Plan and perform experiments with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with Materials Science to define characterization strategies.
• Solve scientific problems using contemporary Materials Science techniques.
• Contribute to development of new approaches within Materials Science.
• Maintain accurate electronic lab notebook entries per good practice.
