Job summary
QuantumScape is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to lead development of the next generation of solid-state lithium‑metal cells. This PMTS role oversees yield and reliability, breaking complex challenges into scoped workstreams and driving them to demo and product readiness.
You will own technical direction, partner with Failure Analysis and Metrology, and mentor engineers while communicating progress to the executive team. Onsite work 5 days a week is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s with 10+ years in Chemical Eng/Materials Science/Physics or related
- Master’s with 8+ years or PhD with 6+ years in related field
- Strong background in electrochemistry and battery development
- Experience taking a process from early development through pilot/demo builds
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and hands-on execution for next-gen cell process workstreams
- Set priorities to improve cell performance, yield, and reliability
- Work with cells, experiments, and data to develop and fix builds
- Partner with Failure Analysis and Metrology to diagnose root causes
- Mentor engineers and promote cross-functional ownership
- Communicate progress and risks to stakeholders up to exec team
