Job summary

SOURCE is seeking a Principal Solar Module Engineer to lead R&D on module technologies for profitable product delivery. You will own interfaces with technology development, product development, engineering, operations and production to ensure disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

You will create roadmaps, justify investments, and drive designs from concept to hardware-ready solutions for space applications, balancing cost, performance and reliability while collaborating across

Qualifications

Photovoltaic and solar module expertise with track record from concept to hardware.
Understanding of COGS, NRE, capital equipment and the business case behind a technology investment.
Experience setting requirements, specifications and performance targets for space hardware.
Proven cross-functional partnership across engineering, operations, production and sales.
Ability to judge safe cost reductions without hurting reliability.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a roadmap of technologies giving module products a market advantage.
Identify and screen technologies against viable business cases to justify investment.
Develop and engineer new technologies into deliverable designs and assess market traction for next cycle.
Drive module development scope, schedule and budget from concept to hardware-driven architectures.
Set module requirements, specifications and performance targets.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and sales to deliver on time and on budget with quality and reliability.
Investigate alternative adhesives and materials to reduce costs without compromising reliability.
