Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, seeks mid‑career Software Engineering professionals to lead verification and automated testing for space missions. You will design, develop, test, and deploy real‑time decision support ground systems, collaborating with experienced engineers and testers across disciplines.

Responsibilities include formal testing, regression analysis, building and maintaining Python/Java/C/C++ test tools, and expanding automation frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Five years of directly relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to obtain DOE Q and SCI clearance.
• Experience with Linux and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with software architects, system engineers, developers, and customers to translate requirements into verification approaches and automated test designs.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites and harnesses to ensure software quality.
• Plan and execute formal testing activities at multiple levels, including readiness reviews and anomaly triage.
• Mentor junior team members in test design, automation, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Support customer-facing milestone activities and communicate technical status, risks, and mitigations.
