Job summary

Element Biosciences Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to own verification of complex features across instrument software, firmware, hardware, cloud services, and data-analysis interfaces.

Qualifications

• Derive test coverage from requirements and user stories with traceable plans and reports.
• Experience testing interfaces among software, embedded systems, firmware, and cloud services.
• Proficiency with Linux and CLI, logs, and databases; scripting or automation (Python/TypeScript) preferred.
• Experience in regulated software development lifecycle and quality systems; knowledge of FDA/IEC/ISO standards is a plus.
• Understanding of product risk management and root-cause analysis; DNA sequencing knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and execute verification activities for complex software features and end-to-end workflows.
• Translate requirements and risks into test strategies, cases, protocols, and reports.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing across hardware and software domains.
• Configure test environments and manage test-data configurations.
• Troubleshoot defects; communicate severity and risk clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve end-user experience and coverage.
• Create review-ready test documentation per design controls and lifecycle processes.
• Identify automation opportunities and contribute to maintainable tests and tools.
• Report test status and quality risks to project leads; share knowledge with teammates.
