Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a Sr Software Engineer in Test to join the End-to-End Validation team in our Palo Alto, CA office. You will build test frameworks, tooling, and monitoring for 24/7 manufacturing systems, collaborating with DevOps and development squads to ensure high-quality deployments.

The role requires strong Python, Playwright, and PyTest skills, plus experience with CI/CD tools and cloud/container tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with emphasis on system integration and E2E validation.
• Experience designing and implementing robust test frameworks and automation strategies.
• Strong Python, Playwright, and PyTest proficiency.
• Experience with GitLab and Argo CI/CD.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, Postgres, AWS, Kubernetes and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize a scalable testing framework across unit, integration, E2E and monitoring layers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with commissioning, manufacturing tooling, and vehicle software teams.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements, code changes, and tests.
• Define and document test guidelines, best practices, and standards.
• Design workflows for test planning, execution, defects, and reporting.
• Analyze test results and drive root-cause resolution with dev teams.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
