Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts seeks a Senior Software Test Engineer to join the Patriot Software Team in Tewksbury. You will analyze requirements, design and execute test cases (manual and automated), and collaborate with developers to ensure secure, reliable software for the Patriot system.

This on-site role may require second or third shift testing; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance are required. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 8+ years of experience in testing environments and leading test efforts.
  • Experience in software engineering, validation, verification, requirements analysis, and testing.

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Software Test Engineer to join our Patriot Software Team in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. What You Will Do
  • Review Software Requirements: Analyze and verify software requirements for clarity, completeness, and testability.
  • Write Test Objectives: Define clear and concise test objectives that guide the testing process and ensure thorough coverage.
  • Design and Execute Test Cases: Create innovative test cases (manual and automated) and execute them rigorously in our on-site lab.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test results, identify discrepancies, and provide clear documentation and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with developers, system architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software integration and functionality.
  • Occasional Off-Hours Testing: Conduct testing during second or third shifts, as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Experience in a testing environment, including creating effective test plans, providing meaningful status updates, and guiding technical teams.
  • Experience in software engineering, validation, verification, requirements analysis, and/or testing.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Familiarity with Patriot software and Patriot-specific processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies (functional, integration, regression, performance, etc.) and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating detailed test plans and leading test efforts for complex projects.
  • Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools.
  • Proficiency with DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System) or similar requirements traceability tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address technical issues effectively.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
