Job Description

We are seeking a Sr Software TPM who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive complex programs across embedded systems, hardware, and cloud infrastructure. This position requires a balance of organizational skills and technical understanding—the ability to keep multi-disciplinary teams aligned while actively engaging in technical discussions with engineers. You will use your program management skills to help the team problem-solve, track deliverables, and execute reliably.

Role Responsibilities

The Sr Software TPM is a leadership role responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and execution of complex software and systems programs across embedded devices, cloud infrastructure, and custom hardware. This position requires a unique balance of project management oversight and technical knowledge—the ability to lead software teams, along with cross-functional teams, while also engaging in technical discussions and planning with engineers.

  • Drive execution for cross-functional software programs across embedded firmware (e.g., Rust), data pipelines (e.g., Python), and cloud platforms.
  • Track development timelines for safety-critical and patient-facing Class III medical device systems.
  • Develop and manage sprint plans, support backlog prioritization, and facilitate daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate workstreams across embedded, cloud, and systems integration teams.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leads to ensure technical alignment and on-time delivery.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for program status, communicating progress, risks, and mitigations to core teams and stakeholders.
  • Track velocity, monitor risks, identify interdependencies, and surface issues across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain project plans, including schedules, risk logs, and resource tracking aligned with program objectives.
  • Use Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence and related project tools to manage tasks, sprints, and progress tracking for team visibility.
  • Identify program challenges and resource bottlenecks, working with teams to resolve issues and meet key milestones.
  • Support alignment of architecture and integration decisions across embedded, cloud, and data systems with program goals.
  • Promote best practices in code quality, documentation, and regulatory traceability across GitHub workflows and Jira.
  • Leverage background in software engineering to engage in technical discussions with the engineering team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within project teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field).
  • 7+ years of technical program management experience, with a track record of driving software sprints and keeping engineering teams on track.
  • Self-starter mindset with proven ability to run multi-track, cross-functional projects across software, cloud, and hardware integrations.
  • Hands-on experience running Agile/Hybrid workflows, leading sprint planning, managing backlogs, and maintaining daily momentum.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet) to build trackers, dashboards, and maintain execution visibility.
  • Familiarity with GitHub workflows and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines to align with software development cycles.
  • Familiarity with SDLC standards and medical device software processes (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, design controls).
  • Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively, resolve blockers, and align distributed or multi-disciplinary teams
Other Qualifications
  • Knowledge in electromechanical systems, and/or neuromodulation devices.
  • Proactive, action-oriented mindset with a focus on follow-through and delivering results.
  • Track record of driving technical projects to completion under tight timelines.
  • Strong self-starter with active listening skills and the initiative to keep teams moving forward.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills across technical and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid analytical abilities and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate team changes, resolve blockers, and collaborate constructively to align priorities.
