Job summary

Redhorse Corporation seeks a Subject Matter Expert in Software Systems Engineering in Chantilly, VA. You will design highly advanced applications, conduct research, and lead efforts supporting government missions, bridging research and strategic goals.

The role demands mastery of low-level software components, experience guiding business capture, and the ability to brief senior stakeholders. Strong mathematical modeling and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 12+ years of experience or Master’s with 10+ years.
Recognized authority in software systems engineering and research.
Experience leading business capture efforts and delivering technical capability briefings.
Extensive background in scientific analysis and mathematical modeling for software system design.

Responsibilities

Act as a recognized expert to design and develop advanced applications driving new business opportunities.
Lead efforts to capture new business through technical work, research, and high-level capability briefings for senior government stakeholders.
Conduct advanced research in the design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software.
Design and document applications software and systems containing complex logical and mathematical solutions.
Lead multidisciplinary research initiatives with equipment designers and hardware engineers on data processing systems.
Determine user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve critical problems regarding program intent and controls.
Design and develop low-level system software including compilers, assemblers, utilities, and operating systems.
Prepare expert-level operating instructions and enforce software standards across projects.
Analyze user needs to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
Confer with systems analysts and engineers to manage project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.
Use scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes of complex designs.
Coordinate large-scale software system installations and monitor equipment to meet specifications and metrics.
