Job summary

Redhorse Corporation is seeking a Software Systems Engineer (mid-level) to design and develop applications with complex logical and mathematical solutions at the intersection of hardware and software. Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with FS Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s with 3+ years.
• Demonstrated understanding of software engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
• Proven experience in design, development, and debugging of applications software.
• Experience with systems-level programming (e.g., compilers, assemblers, operating systems).
• Strong background in using mathematical models and scientific analysis for software design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software.
• Design and develop applications software and systems with complex logical and mathematical solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and equipment designers to plan data processing systems.
• Analyze user needs and system capabilities to resolve technical problems and input data acquisition.
• Design low-level system components including compilers, assemblers, utilities, and operating systems.
• Prepare detailed operating instructions and ensure software standards are met.
• Analyze requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Consult with analysts, engineers, and programmers to obtain project information.
• Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to modify software systems and predict design consequences.
• Coordinate installations and monitor equipment functioning to meet specifications.
