Job summary

Torch Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer to support the Air & Missile Business Unit. The role focuses on MBSE-driven development of complex software-intensive systems, with collaboration across engineers, testers, and program stakeholders to deliver integrated architectures.

Requirements include a STEM degree (plus an advanced degree preferred), 10+ years in systems engineering, and an active Secret security clearance. Travel up to 10% and onsite work are expected.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a master's degree in a relevant technical discipline are required.
• At least 10 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• Strong background in complex software-intensive systems (C2, sensors, embedded, real-time).
• Experience with MBSE, use case development, and modular/open systems architecture.
• Proficiency with MagicDraw or an equivalent tool.
• Experience with Agile and tools like Jira/Confluence.
• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and presentations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of coordinating with stakeholders.
• Ability to work onsite and maintain Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain systems engineering products defining complex software behaviors and interfaces.
• Apply MBSE to develop models, use cases, and activity diagrams.
• Decompose system requirements into software and interface requirements with traceability.
• Support integration and interoperability of distributed systems and subsystems.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, users, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Participate in Agile planning, reviews, and verification; prepare technical briefings.
