Job summary

STR is seeking a Lead Software Reverse Engineer to drive research and analysis of vulnerabilities in cyber-physical systems. You will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers delivering cutting-edge technologies with immediate national impact.

Onsite work is required and a Top Secret clearance is mandatory. You will lead teams, develop automated analysis tools, and contribute to exploit development and technical proposals that influence defense capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/Cybersecurity or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading technical teams on reverse engineering and exploitation programs.
• Proficiency with binary analysis of software/firmware.
• Experience with disassembly tools: IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or Ghidra.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python and assembly languages.
• Active Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship.
• Knowledge of weaponizing vulnerabilities into exploits.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineering complex software or firmware targets across Windows/Linux and embedded systems.
• Develop automated reverse engineering and binary analysis tools to characterize protocols and functionality.
• Lead multi-discipline teams to tackle challenging cybersecurity problems.
• Perform vulnerability weaponization, exploit development, and payload development.
• Document, demonstrate, and present research; contribute to proposals.
