Job summary

STR is seeking a Principal Software Reverse Engineer to research vulnerabilities in cyber-physical systems. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering cutting-edge technologies with national security impact. The role requires onsite work and an active Top Secret clearance.

You will lead reverse engineering efforts, develop tools, and mentor engineers across Windows, Linux, and embedded targets. Impactful projects at STR challenge you to push the envelope of cybersecurity and hardware-software

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 15 years relevant experience (MS/PhD with equivalent work experience may be considered).
Substantial experience leading technical teams on advanced reverse engineering and exploitation programs.
Experience with binary analysis of software/firmware.
Proficiency with IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or Ghidra.
Proficiency in assembly languages (x86, ARM) and programming (C/C++, Python).

Responsibilities

Reverse engineering complex software or firmware targets, Windows/Linux binaries to embedded firmware.
Develop automated reverse engineering and binary analysis tools.
Develop innovative cybersecurity solutions.
Lead multi-discipline teams to tackle challenging problems across technologies.
Perform vulnerability weaponization, exploit development, payload development, and mitigation.
Technical marketing and proposal development.
Document, demonstrate, and present research.
Solve real-world problems impacting national security.
