Job summary

Kitu Systems is seeking a Senior Software QA Test Engineer to lead a team building tests and automation for our smart energy products. You will drive testing across frontend and backend applications, develop automated suites, and ensure quality standards are met before release.

Ideal candidates have hands-on testing experience, strong Python skills, and experience with UNIX/Linux. This role offers remote flexibility, equity, and growth opportunities within a fast-growing energy tech company.

Qualifications

About the Role

We have an exciting role for a Senior Software QA Test Engineer who will lead a team of test engineers building tests, automation, and performing testing of our smart energy products. Team responsibilities include developing scripts and tools to automate testing, building network environments for system testing, performing system tests, performing first level triage of issues discovered through test activities, and driving bug resolution with the development team.

As the QA Test Lead, you will ensure that the test team has the processes, tools, and training to fully validate our products in a timely manner. You and your team will represent quality control and ensure that products are only delivered when they meet agreed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• 5+ years testing experience
• Knowledge of testing methodologies
• Experience programming with Python
• Experience testing frontend and backend applications
• Experience developing automated test suites
• Experience with UNIX and/or Linux
• Experience writing documentation, test procedures
• Experience with debugging and troubleshooting test failures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
