Job summary

Aether Aerospace seeks a Software Factory Engineer III to join a Defense Technology platform delivering mission software and cloud-based solutions for DoD customers. You will integrate CI/CD, source control, security controls, and observability into reusable workflows and onboard programs using Platform One, ODIN, and DAF CloudWorks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, artifact workflows, and reusable delivery templates.
• Experience onboarding or supporting applications in an established software factory or shared development platform, including access, toolchain integration, and release workflows.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of DevSecOps security scanning, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and RMF/ATO processes.

Responsibilities

• Integrate source control, CI/CD, artifact repositories, container registries, automated testing, security scanning, secrets management, and observability into software delivery workflows.
• Work with program teams and factory providers to assess application fit, prepare onboarding information, obtain access, and map existing development and release processes to available factory services.
• Configure and use established software factories to build, test, secure, and deploy program applications.
• Develop and maintain reusable CI/CD templates, infrastructure-as-code modules, container baselines, and deployment patterns.
• Automate builds, tests, vulnerability checks, artifact promotion, deployments, and monitoring across development, test, and production environments.
• Implement security controls and evidence collection within delivery workflows; address RMF/ATO findings.
• Provision and configure cloud and container services, including Kubernetes and secrets, within approved environments.
• Troubleshoot onboarding, integration, pipeline, deployment, and performance issues; document fixes and improve the shared platform.
• Create self-service documentation and onboarding guidance for development teams.
