Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation is hiring a software engineer to design and develop retirement plan administration systems using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core. You’ll work in an agile team with testers, product owners, and Scrum Masters to decompose requirements into technical tasks and deliver features in sprints.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 96 months of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience.
• Design and develop software systems using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core, including microservices for retirement plan platforms.
• Design and develop SOAP (WCF) and RESTful web services with API versioning and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Create automated test suites using TDD and maintain code quality with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment.
• Implement secure authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect) and provide production support for high-availability systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of software applications for retirement plan administration.
• Participate in an agile team and collaborate to flesh out system requirements.
• Design and build automated tests and release applications to production on a regular schedule.
• Provide production application support and perform root cause analysis for critical incidents.
• Analyze existing code for defects and performance bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with architects to define technical designs aligned with standards and security.
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain code quality across the team.
• Decompose requirements into technical tasks and estimate effort for iterations.
• Maintain integrations between internal systems and external service providers.
• Create and maintain design specifications and operational runbooks.
