Job summary

Palmetto is seeking a senior engineering leader based in Charlotte, NC, to guide the teams responsible for how homeowners discover, select, and start with Palmetto. You will drive growth of the digital acquisition experience, oversee the multi-product front door, and shape the onboarding, service, and support journeys in our consumer app.

You will lead 8 to 15 engineers across two squads, partnering with Product and Design.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years managing engineers and experience leading multiple teams.
• A record of hiring well, developing people, and building teams with strong technical leads.
• Hands-on depth in Node.js and TypeScript and in designing and consuming REST APIs, enough to review designs and code.
• Experience with web experimentation and analytics: A/B testing, funnel instrumentation, and conversion-focused product work.
• A track record of delivering large consumer-facing projects with sound judgment on priorities and trade-offs.
• Strong partnership with Product and Design, and the ability to turn business goals into technical plans.
• Practical knowledge of agentic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the engineering teams behind Palmetto's homeowner journey.
• Set direction with Product and Design and deliver cross-platform initiatives.
• Review designs and occasionally write code to move projects forward.
• Advocate the use of AI agents as first-class tools in development and operations.
• Ensure reliability and cost efficiency across cloud infrastructure.
• Partner with stakeholders across Product, Design, Marketing, and Data.
• Maintain high standards through reviews, tests, and governance.
