We are looking for a dynamic R&D Director/Senior Engineering Manager position for our growing Helix IT Service Management (ITSM) products and Agentic AI platforms.
In this role, you will be a key member of the Digital Service and Operations Management (DSOM) leadership team. You will own product innovation, development, quality assurance and production escalation for our Agentic AI core platform and features, while working with cross functional teams all over the globe. You will lead approximately 25-30+ employees globally and manage 2-3 first-line managers.
You will be responsible to lead and recruit a world class SaaS engineering team focused on LLM based solutions and Agentic AI frameworks and its R&D. You need to stay on top of cutting-edge industry trends and introduce best methods and tools to improve R&D deliverables. You will work closely with product management to define the product development roadmap and strategy. You will be responsible for delivering on the roadmap with high quality and predictable timelines. You will work with BMC field teams to help customers adopt BMC’s Agentic AI solutions and go live; and work with our Support organization to make sure customers are successfully using our products.

- Manage the Delivery and Lifecycle of new and existing DSOM products using Agentic AI technologies
- Lead approximately 30+ employees globally & manage 2-3 managers.
- Engage with early adopter customers to help new feature adoption and go live.
- Meet key customers to help resolve production issues and improve customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and incorporate enhancements on an ongoing basis.
- Guide product development teams to realize product concepts and bring them to market.
- Drive consensus, sponsorship, and alignment for future plans among key stakeholders.
- Work closely with other R&D teams to plan dependency interlock, execution tracking to ensure end to end solution delivery.
- Update project status, raise red flags, and propose mitigations to stakeholders to build awareness and confidence in execution.
- Promote a culture of autonomy, transparency, and teamwork, while remaining customer focused.
- Guide and mentor team members and position them for growth and advancement.
- Establish close working relationships with direct reports, colleagues, customers, and partners.
- Analyze complex systems and identify innovative approaches to solving difficult problems.
- Complete projects and tasks on time, on target, and on budget.
- Adhere to workplace procedures and policies in an ethical fashion.
- Support business and financial analysis to aid in decision making and provide insights that inform business strategies.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- 12+ years of professional experience from global enterprises products companies
- 4+ years of experience in leading and managing world class SaaS software engineering teams working on complex software solutions,
- 2+ years of experience in enterprise ITSM solutions development.
- Experience with R&D products leadership for building products using AI/ ML/GenAI/Agentic AI development
- Experience in mentoring and growing employees across distributed locations, with the ability to attract, motivate and retain great software engineering talent.
- Experience building and managing subscription SaaS software/cloud services.
- Comfortable with modern SaaS delivery methodologies including Agile, Lean, CI/CD and DevOps.
- Experience with cloud native architectures and platform services, including microservices, containers, multi-tenancy, databases, security, etc.
- Customer-oriented with ability to maintain a proactive understanding of customer needs and goals.
- Data driven approach & analytical thinking when addressing business problems, decision making and measurement.
- Ability to effectively influence and persuade others with conviction.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including strong presentation creation skills., ability to present at Execs levels
- Strong results-orientation, strategic thinking, and creativity.
- Willingness to “go the extra mile” to achieve important goals.
- Willing to handle work outside of normal hours due to globally distributed teams and customers.
- Ability to maintain calmness and composure in the face of intense workloads and time pressures.
- Desire to promote BMC’s values and behavior standards.
- MS/BS degree in a related field (preferably Computer Science).
