Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and build foundational systems powering teen and guardian experiences at scale. You will define identity primitives, age assurance pipelines, and guardian tools across OpenAI products, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, designers, policy experts, and researchers to ship privacy-preserving, scalable solutions that support responsible use of AI for youth and families.

Qualifications

• Experience building identity/authentication systems for consumer-scale applications.
• Ability to design scalable age-assurance and guardian-interaction workflows.
• Awareness of privacy, safety, and regulatory considerations in youth-focused products.

Responsibilities

• Architect teen and guardian experiences across OpenAI products and ensure safe, compliant implementations.
• Build global, privacy-preserving age-assurance systems aligned with regional requirements.
• Design identity infrastructure for scalable, secure user journeys at consumer internet scale.
• Collaborate with policy, research, legal, design and engineering to improve safety metrics.
