Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks a Senior Software Engineer and Workflow Developer to lead the technical strategy, administration and continuous improvement of the SIMS software and related automation.

You will design automated workflows with BP Logix Process Director, develop SQL Server-based data services, and integrate SIMS with other enterprise apps while collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Two or more programming languages experience.
• At least 3 years in software development incl. complex systems and 1 year in system administration.
• 3+ years supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience administering or supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views and scripts.
• Experience troubleshooting software applications and databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead SIMS administration, support, upgrades and change management.
• Develop automated workflows using BP Logix Process Director.
• Design and maintain SQL Server procedures, views and scripts.
• Integrate SIMS with BP Logix and other enterprise apps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into solutions.
• Create documentation and technical procedures.
• Evaluate new technologies for automation and efficiency improvements.
