Nightwing is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex, mission-critical software systems in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, tackle high-visibility challenges, and shape solutions that directly support critical operations for U.S. government missions.

Qualifications include 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, current TS/SCI CI Poly clearance, IAT Level II, and U.S. citizenship.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Apply advanced software engineering principles and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
• Work independently on complex functional tasks while contributing to the overall technical direction of the program.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet technical, functional, and security requirements across the full development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and, when assigned, overseeing the work of staff supporting specific initiatives.
• Support high-visibility efforts where reliability, performance, and security are paramount. Minimum Requirements: * 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, or a qualifying substitution as defined by program guidelines.
• Current TS/SCI CI Poly
• IAT Level II certification compliance (required).
• Proven experience delivering complex systems in environments with stringent security and operational requirements.
• Strong ability to work independently while influencing team success and technical outcomes. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
