Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD, with active TS/SCI w/Polygraph. This on-site role focuses on extracting value from data using ML and analytics, leading teams, and selecting development processes in coordination with customers.

You will work with Java/Python, data formats (XML/CSV/JSON), and NiFi, contributing to complex software projects with a strong emphasis on mission-focused delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; 4 additional years of software engineering experience can substitute for a degree.
• 20 years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience leading multiple software development teams and selecting the software development process with the customer.

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data.
• Leverage statistical methods and/or machine learning to discover patterns and behaviors.
• Use DataXplorer and GMAE to present datasets in a storytelling manner.
• Work with metadata domains to develop new data characterization methodologies.
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand mission needs.
• Develop data enrichment/conversion methods and work with data ontologies/schemas.
