Rivermatrix Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, TS/SCI with Polygraph, to join a small, mission-focused team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role emphasizes user-centered design, UI/UX excellence, and accessibility compliance.

A Bachelor’s degree plus extensive SWE experience is required, with a strong background in usability and development lifecycle. Salary ranges from $160,000 to $260,000, depending on education, experience, and contractual requirements; benefits

Qualifications

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs/contracts of similar scope.
• Bachelor’s degree as noted; four extra years may substitute for the degree.
• Five years of experience with user-centered design, UI best practices, usability testing, and SDLC.
• Work with analysts to research, develop, and document user profiles and performance requirements.
• Develop UI design specs and support documentation (wireframes, mockups, interactions, design guidelines).
• Collaborate with product designers and process engineers to ensure user-centered solutions.
• Conduct accessibility and 508 compliance testing to meet standards.
• Collect and analyze user feedback to guide UX decisions.
• Create interactive prototypes to validate concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly usable end-user interfaces focusing on UX principles.
• Apply UI/UX best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design with workflows.
• Conduct accessibility testing and ensure 508 compliance.
