Job summary

Momentum Engineering in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, seeks a Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, integrate, test, and sustain complex software systems for mission requirements. Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph.
• 14 years of experience in programs of comparable scope.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or 4 additional years of software engineering experience).
• Experience analyzing software and system requirements and developing technical solutions.
• Experience with software development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
• JIRA and GitLab for development workflows and source control.
• Agile/Scrum: iterative development, sprint planning, backlog management.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform experience.
• AWS Cloud Security: IAM, network segmentation, encryption, auditing, protection.
• CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, integration, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Software design and development aligned with system architectures.
• Analyze requirements and plan implementation.
• Develop, test, enhance, and maintain applications and components.
• Add features while preserving compatibility and performance.
• Develop efficient, scalable data queries and database interactions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Support software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Contribute to system integration across environments.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure architecture alignment.
• Develop and execute test procedures for components.
• Ensure coding standards and process compliance.
• Document interfaces, components, and processes.
• Lead small technical efforts and coordinate development activities.
• Participate in sprint planning and team collaboration.
• Improve engineering processes and workflows.
