Job summary

Mercury is building an investment platform that moves idle cash for startups, combining safety and yield. Treasury is a team of full-stack engineers delivering onboarding, portfolio, dashboard, and tooling experiences that manage billions in customer funds.

As a senior developer, you will lead cross-functional, customer-facing projects, define architecture, collaborate with product, design, and operations, own the product, and mentor both junior and senior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience building and operating backend systems to customer-facing experiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate across product, design, and operations.
• Track record as technical lead on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Product-minded engineering mindset focusing on API consumers and customer outcomes.
• Domain knowledge of being a registered investment adviser and broker-dealer supporting securities and funds.
• Ability to mentor junior and senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact, cross-functional, customer-facing projects involving Treasury engineering, operations, compliance, banking, and risk teams.

• Define the technical architecture and experience of the Treasury product

The ideal candidate for the role:

• Has 5+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience building and operating backend systems to customer facing experiences
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with peers and cross-functional counterparts by being helpful and engaged
• Has a successful track record acting as the technical lead of complex projects with multiple stakeholders
• Is a product-minded engineer who thinks about the developers consuming your APIs as well as always exceeding our customers expectations, not just shipping the feature
• Has domain knowledge of being a registered investment advisor and broker-dealer supporting both individual securities (equities, fixed income) as well as mutual funds
• Excited to mentor both junior and senior engineers
