Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Sterling, VA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Training System Software to design, develop, and test cross‑functional training devices on-site. This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

You will work on multi‑platform software, participate in agile teams, provide estimates, and travel to customer sites as needed. A STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in C# or Java and OOP is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required before start.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software on cross‑functional agile teams.
• Perform bidding and proposal activities to support new business.
• Influence cost, schedule, and technical performance at team level.
• Develop high‑quality, maintainable software.
• Perform multi‑threaded debugging.
• Provide engineering estimates and requirements analysis.
• Travel to domestic and international customer sites for training/product installations.
