Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Trading Order Entry & Status Technologies team, building a high-throughput, low-latency trading platform. You will design, develop, deploy, and support distributed systems across multiple asset classes.

Work closely with business, architecture, and engineering partners in an agile environment while modernizing Schwab’s trading platform to enhance client trading experiences.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building scalable backend systems with .NET technologies including .NET Core.
• 5+ years high performance, low latency financial transaction systems.
• 5+ years NoSQL databases such as Aerospike and MongoDB.
• 5+ years messaging/services-based software in cloud (RabbitMQ, Kafka, IBM MQ).
• 5+ years relational databases (Db2, SQL Server).
• 5+ years cloud technologies like GCP and PCF.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• 5+ years implementing CI/CD pipelines (Harness or GitHub Actions) and Atlassian tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern practices.
• Bachelor’s Degree or related practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support scalable distributed applications and services.
• Build automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing solutions.
• Ensure high software quality through observability, monitoring, and automation.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with agile teams across business, architecture, and engineering partners.
• Participate in technical design reviews and architecture discussions.
• Develop automation to advance Schwab SDLCs and meet objectives.
