Job summary

Avenue Technologies Company in Tucson, AZ seeks a Mechanical Engineer - Test Equipment to design and build mechanical test systems for production environments. The role focuses on vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical testing.

You will validate systems against strict accuracy and reliability standards, evaluate installations, and propose design improvements. A STEM degree and hands-on CAD experience with ProE/CREO are required, along with security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum two years of work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Two years of technical/engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Two years’ experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis.
• Experience creating mechanical drawing packages.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance is required.
• Citizenship is required, as only citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum two () years of work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• Two () years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support
• Two () years’ experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis
• Experience creating mechanical drawing packages
• The ability to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance is required. citizenship is required, as only citizens are eligible for a security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
• Experience with creating complex design drawing packages
• Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (, Windchill / cPDM)
• Experience in Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design
• Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
• Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (, vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
• Systems engineering experience
