Job summary

Rustica seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own the technical direction of our revenue-critical e-commerce platform and related systems. You will design and implement scalable storefront features, product configuration, pricing, cart, checkout, and payments, while ensuring security, data integrity, and reliable operations across AWS infrastructure and internal platforms.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ownership of revenue-critical e-commerce or transactional systems.
• Ability to evaluate existing code and improve production systems.
• Strong frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue/Nuxt.
• Hands-on AWS experience and Cloudflare infrastructure knowledge.
• Security-focused with experience designing robust APIs and data models.
• Excellent collaboration and technical leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Rustica’s customer-facing e-commerce storefront.
• Own product configuration, cart, checkout, payments, and orders workflows.
• Design secure APIs linking storefront, admin systems, and manufacturing.
• Improve storefront performance, accessibility, and reliability.
• Lead architecture reviews and maintain engineering standards.
• Ensure production reliability and incident readiness for critical systems.
