Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, development, integration, and prototyping for the Army’s Counter‑UAS (C‑UAS) Network Communication System (NCS). You’ll build secure, low‑latency tactical software enabling network integration of M‑LIDS and FS‑LIDS for SHORAD missions.

This senior role requires architecture leadership across the full software lifecycle, rapid prototyping, secure communications, cloud integration, and testing in contested environments.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience with 15+ years in software engineering.
• Proven leadership in prototype development and iterative build‑test cycles.
• Experience designing complex tactical or networked software architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with secure communications, encryption, MFA, and access control.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity, RMF/ATO processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead software architecture updates and rapid prototyping for C‑UAS NCS.
• Develop secure, encrypted, low‑latency communications for tactical networks.
• Design zero‑trust gateways and encrypted remote sessions.
• Oversee cloud integration and data transfer to Army‑authorized environments.
• Support testing and deployment in contested environments.
• Contribute to cybersecurity, software assurance, and ATO documentation.
