Job summary

Google in the United States is seeking software engineers to work on large-scale search and AI initiatives. You will contribute to improving search quality, AI-driven responses, and cross-team collaboration across Search Verticals, Search Intelligence, and DeepMind.

In this role, you will help design experiments, evaluate AI systems, and drive deployment of solutions that impact billions of users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of programming in Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Experience conducting exploratory data analysis using Python or R and SQL.
• Experience evaluating search quality or user interaction data to improve query relevance and search results.
• Master's degree or PhD in CS or related field (preferred).
• Experience with AI / LLM related development or evaluation methodologies (preferred).
• Experience leading projects through full lifecycle (preferred).
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners (preferred).
• Experience applying AI-assisted development tools or autonomous agent coding (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Focus on improving Search AI quality for Live Events Factuality and Freshness.
• Collaborate with Search Verticals, Search Intelligence, and DeepMind to fix high-visibility query quality gaps.
• Engage in factuality quality programs across Search and GDM and identify new gaps.
• Design and run experiments to improve AI-generated responses and establish self-improvement loops.
