Socket.dev is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and maintain highly scalable distributed systems that power developer tools. You will lead design discussions, mentor engineers, and explore observability concepts while delivering robust, fault-tolerant services in a collaborative environment.

You will work with cutting-edge tech stacks and strive to push the boundaries of performance and reliability for services used by millions of developers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable infrastructure services.
• 10 to 15 years of industry experience in building and maintaining backend distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of core CS concepts including data structures, algorithms, and concurrent programming.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities.
• Passion for developing and testing clear, robust code.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies and frameworks.
• Great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Requirement gathering across cross functional teams.
• Developing practical, fault-tolerant high-performance distributed systems.
• Leading and participating in technical design discussions across cross functional teams.
• Gain in-depth understanding of the observability domain and come up with creative ideas in the domain.
