Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Safety Foundation to architect, implement, and grow systems that moderate content and interactions across the platform.

You will collaborate with Trust & Safety ML, User Safety, and product teams, own projects from concept to deployment, and help scale safety for 100+ million daily users. The role is based at our San Mateo, CA headquarters with onsite work pattern; base pay ranges from $196,750 to $243,290 USD plus equity and benefits.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building and operating backend services or distributed systems.
  • Proficient in Go or a similar compiled language (Go strongly preferred).
  • Experience with or strong interest in building developer platforms.
  • Experience with CQRS and Event Sourcing; NoSQL tech such as Cassandra or DynamoDB a plus.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field — or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop the Safety Platform powering Roblox safety.
  • Design and build the developer experience layer to integrate safety features quickly.
  • Own projects from concept to deployment with high quality, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Trust & Safety ML, User Safety, Safety Operations, and product teams to translate needs into infrastructure.
