Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Rider team in Toronto. You will work across product, data science, and operations to build scalable ridesharing features, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor junior engineers.

You will design fault-tolerant distributed systems, leverage AWS/GCP/Azure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable code. Hybrid in-office with flexible week structure.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing, debugging and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience working with Kubernetes and container technologies (Docker, CRI-O).
• Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team.

Experience:

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $136,000 - CAD $170,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
