Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Visualization team in New Jersey. You will design, develop, and maintain AI-powered solutions to improve business decisions and outcomes, while guiding the team in AI best practices and code quality.

You will mentor juniors, review code, and collaborate with IT and business teams to translate requirements into scalable software. The role emphasizes BI tooling and cloud/on‑prem environments, with a focus on Power BI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application development.
• 3-5 years of experience with AI tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI agents or similar AI-powered solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau or similar BI platforms; Power BI preferred.
• Experience developing in Azure/cloud environments and on-premise.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Visualization team , you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality applications and AI- powered solutions that improve business outcomes and decision making. You will serve as technical leader and AI subject matter expert, helping guide the team in the effective use of AI technologies. You will conduct code reviews and promote clean, efficient, and maintainable development and help establish best practices and continuously improve how the team develops and delivers technology solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional business & IT teams to gather and analyze requirements
• Ensure the team writes clean, scalable, and efficient code. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Mentor junior developers and assist in their professional growth
• Participate in the continuous improvement of development processes

You’ll Come With

• 5+ years of experience in application development.
• 3-5 years of experience with AI tools
• Hands-on experience building and implementing AI agents or similar AI powered solutions
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, or a similar reporting/BI platform; Power BI experience is strongly preferred.
