Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Reporting & Billing team in McLean, VA. You will own the reporting data model, design delivery mechanisms (APIs, exports, event streams), and help architect the billing system from end to end.

You'll collaborate across product and engineering to ensure secure, scalable, and auditable data flows that power customer reporting, analytics, and invoicing for our 152M+ member base.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience building web applications.
• 3+ years building developer-facing platforms (APIs, portals, or auth).
• 3+ years with TypeScript, React and Next.js; backend with Rails/Node/Java.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor).

Responsibilities

• Build the Transactions Data Model to track user activity.
• Design and build customer data delivery mechanisms via APIs, exports, webhooks, and event streams; own API contracts and SLAs.
• Develop the metering and billing architecture for accurate charges.
• Ensure reliability, data quality, and compliance at scale (security, privacy, audit per NIST 800-63-3).
• Champion AI-first engineering practices across the team.
